Community Surveillance Camera Partnership
The goal of the Chesterfield Township Police Community Surveillance Camera Partnership, is to enable enhanced collaboration between the Chesterfield Township Police Department and the community that we serve. Through this voluntary collaboration we hope to deter crime within Chesterfield Township, solve criminal acts more quickly, and build a stronger relationship between Chesterfield Township Police and the community. Go to chesterfieldtwpnj.gov/departments/police and select the Community Surveillance Partnership tab to register. Residents whom voluntarily register with this program should be aware of the following:
- Chesterfield Township Police will contact you via the information you provide upon registration when a criminal act occurs in the vicinity of your residence. Your surveillance system may have caught video of the criminal act and make it easier to solve the crime in question.
- Until video footage is requested by Chesterfield Police and voluntarily turned over by the owner, any and all video footage will remain the property of the owner/resident. Participation in this program does not result in an obligation to turn over video footage.
- This program is completely voluntary and the Chesterfield Township Police Department will be utilizing the footage received for Investigation purposes only, and it may be used as evidence during the criminal process.
- At no point in this registration or participation does this relate to the resident acting or being an agent or employee of Chesterfield Township Police department.
