Chesterfield Township Committee

Township Committee

Chesterfield Township operates under the Township form of government which is comprised of five committee members who are elected for overlapping three year terms, so that at least one member is up for election every year.  One member is chosen annually at the reorganization in January to serve as Mayor.  The Mayor presides at the meetings and votes as a member of the Committee.  The Township Committee serves both legislative and executive functions and establishes various procedures under which the Township must operate.

Meetings

The Township Committee meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each monthly at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building. Please check the Township Calendar for meeting dates, cancellations and time changes.  All citizens are invited and encouraged to attend the meetings.  A public comment period is included at each committee meeting and a citizen may speak during that time.
